TOP 32 PAIRINGS
Here is a link to the Challonge Bracket.
————————————————–
16) GreenDragoon
-100-
34 Quickdraw w/ Collision Detector, VI, G Chips, SOT, Harpoon
35 Vader w/ TIE/X1, AdvTC, VI, G Chips, Harpoon
31 Inquisitor w/ VI, G Chips, TIE/V1, Harpoon

17) CatchySlim
-100-
25 Omicron w/ Baffle, Kylo
39 Vader w/ TIE/X1, AdvTC, VI, Engine, Harpoon
36 Quickdraw w/ FCS, VI, G Chips, SoT, Harpoon

Pilot Skill 11 isn’t good enough at the first table; one player will get stuck with initiative and have trouble launching Harpoons quickly. Will the game be a coin flip? I believe it will. CatchySlim has the only ace on the table, he matches his Lambda gun against a list that is hunting more fragile prey, and his Quickdraw has FCS to help launch — three advantages that I think give him the edge.

#8) LeoArthur
-100-
23 Biggs w/ R4-D6, IA
38 (x2) Rookie w/ R2, IA
26 Gold w/ R3-A2, TLT, BTL-A4
13 Bandit w/ G Chip, Thread Tracer

25) AndreiKlep
-100-
62 Rey w/ Expertise, Finn, Kanan, Engine, MF 2.0
38 Jan w/ Wired, Chewbacca, Ray Shield, TLT

Rey and Jan walk into a protected R3-A2 and an R4-D6 Biggs, which shuts off AndreiKlep’s “Plan A”. Can Andrei summon his inner champion and find an alternate plan? Engine looks like a potentially game saving card in this game, and Wired might help Jan’s TLT remain relevant. I think this game will be a hard positional test for Andrei, to outlast so many ships. You can do it, Andrei!

#9) EldarLord
-99-
23 Biggs w/ R4-D6, IA
35 Shara w/ M9-G8, DTF, Weapons Engineer, AO
41 Norra w/ BB-8, PTL, Finn, VT, AO

24) SGCalgary
-99-
61 Kenkirk w/ LW, Captive, Ysanne, Gunner, Thermal D
38 Quickdraw / FCS, Outmaneuver, Frame, PA, SoT

Outmaneuver hates seeing extra arc coverage, and Rebel Captive will frustrate Norra’s PTL use. This looks like a good old fashioned dice rolling contest, but targeting priority for Eldarlord could win or lose him the game. I expect to see an aggressive Kenkirk and a cautious Quickdraw. With even dice, this should be a fun game to watch if you like subtle positioning. Neither player has a significant advantage.

13) Leolath
-100-
38 Quickdraw w/ FCS, Intensity, Frame, Comm Relay, SOT
23 Omega Leader w/ A Score to Settle, Comm Relay
39 Vessery w/ VI, Ion Cannon, TIE/D

20) TzazikiMann
-100-
34 Vader w/ TIE/X1, AdvTC, VI, G Chips, Cruise Missile
35 Quickdraw w/ FCS, VI, G Chips, Cruise Missile
31 Inquisitor w/ PTL, Autothrusters, TIE/V1

TzazikiMann will get his alpha strike vs an AGI-defended 3 ship list, and he should win this game. However he is against ships that have 5 Forward and Barrel Roll, and Cruise Missiles can be hard to launch due to the need to to go speed 3 or faster. Leolath might be able to outplay here prior to combat, with good obstacle placement and flying. But I have to call Leo the underdog; it’s a hard match-up.

12) KRonn
-99-
23 Biggs w/ R4-D6, IA
23 Tarn w/ M9-G8, IA
26 Hobbie w/ R2-D6, PTL, IA
27 Bodhi w/ Baffle, Hera, Recruit, Ion Projector, Pivot Wing

21) Sycho
-100-
45 Corran w/ R2-D2, FCS, PTL, Engine
55 Rey w/ Trick Shot, Finn, Chopper, Engine, MF 2.0

Positional ships can exploit the limited mobility of X-wings and U-wings, so KRonn will have be very careful that he returns fire on Sycho’s ships during what is sure to be a careful positional battle. Obstacles and the large U-wing base are sure to help early, but as this game continues I think Sycho may run away with this one. R3A2’s absence is sure to be felt, it could have scared Corran a bit.

15) TalonCor
-99-
63 (x3) Marauder w/ Vaksai, G Chips, Failsafe, Ray Shield, BMST, Harpoon
36 (x2) Marauder w/ Vaksai, G Chips, Failsafe, Ray Shield, BMST, Tracers

18) QuadJumperKing
-99-
31 Inquisitor w/ PTL, Autothrusters, TIE/V1
34 Kestal w/ Expertise, Frame, TLT
34 Ryad w/ Intensity, TIE/X7

Ryad is the easiest target for TalonCor’s Harpoon spam, but is sh the right target? The Marauder machine runs into list that can fan out to avoid splash damage and has some ability to keep away from Marauder guns. Inquisitor has the ability to solo down up to three Marauders in the endgame if TalonCor cannot keep his ships working together, so he’ll want as much of  lead as those Harpoons can buy him. I honestly like TalonCor’s chances; the Harpoons should kill a ship and put him way ahead.

#7) MegaSilver
-97-
33 Lowhhrik w/ Selflessness, Rey, Tactician
23 Biggs w/ R4-D6, IA
14 Rex
27 Jess w/ R2-D6, DTF, IA

26) AgedWhiskey
-100-
22 Marauder w/ Vaksai, VT, G Chips, Failsafe, Cloaking Device, Harpoon
42 (x2) Marauder w/ Vaksai, VT, G Chips, Failsafe, BMST, Harpoon
36 (x2) Marauder w/ Vaksai, VT, G Chips, Failsafe, BMST, Tracers

Harpoon spam vs Fair Ship Rebels should be an interesting fight, and I think MegaSilver may need to break out “Plan B” for this one. Perhaps Rex and Jess will break off to flank? Maybe guarding Biggs is out the window entirely, and Rebel ships fan out to avoid Harpoons doing too much harm. It should be interesting to see how MegaSilver handles the Marauders. I think I have to give AgedWhiskey the big advantage here — he has the right squad for the job. This should be a fun game to watch.

10) DieMilkweed
-99-
34 Vader w/ TIE/X1, AdvTC, VI, G Chips, Cruise Missile
35 Quickdraw w/ FCS, VI, G Chips, Cruise Missile, SoT
30 Tomax w/ VI, G Chips, Cruise Missile, Extra M

23) Remi (current champion)
-100-
34 Vader w/ TIE/X1, AdvTC, VI, G Chips, Cruise Missile
35 Quickdraw w/ FCS, VI, G Chips, SoT, Cruise Missile
31 Inquisitor w/ PTL, Autothrusters, TIE/V1

Remi has walked into a trap; his Pilot Skill 11 is too low. But I don’t hate his chances entirely;  he has a good flank ship in Inquisitor, the only ace on the field. He also has FCS on Quickdraw, to help that ship launch. This looks uphill to me though; I have to say this one is DieMilkweeed’s to lose. The initiative bid here should be lethal.
————————————————–
14) BladeM
-97-
36 Fenn w/ PTL, Autothrusters, CDP, Flechette Torp
30 Talonbane w/ Vaksai, Mindlink, Engine, Autothrusters, VT, Tracers, ID
31 Victor w/ Vaksai, Mindlink, Engine, Autothrustersm, Stealth, IP Missile, Crane

19) DarrylM
-100-
49 Bossk w/ Fearlessness, Dengar, K-4, 4-LOM, G Chips, Crane, Cluster Missiles
24 NDru w/ Crack Shot, G Chips, Cluster Missiles, Glitterstim
27 Unkar w/ Cikatro, Tractor Array, PA, Cloaking Device, Cluster Mines

Unkar needs to carry the team in this one. Ndru and Bossk will struggle to launch and should get aced down painfully… unless Unkar can work some magic, which he’s entirely capable of. This is going to be a sharp contest, from obstacle placements to near endgame. I think Darryl has to find a way to get a 2vs1 fight to avoid being outmaneuvered, so Unkar may have to stay alive while also being aggressive — something I don’t believe is likely, but this game could be exciting to watch.

#6) Mu0n
-100-
33 Lowhhrik w/ DTF, Rey, Jan
23 Biggs w/ R4-D6, IA
14 Rex
30 Wedge w/ R2 Astromech, Predator, IA

27) TsukudaJoe
-95-
48 Corran w/ R2-D2, AdvS, PTL, Engine, Seismic Torp
47 Nym w/ Havoc, Genius, AdvS, VI, Engine, TLT, Bomblet Generator

Formation play vs Nym’s bomblets is very hard to do, and positionally weak ships usually lose to Corran’s ace flying. Mu0n will have to coax a big mistake out of his opponent to win this one, I think. Wedge alone won’t threaten Corran much despite superior PS. The fight once again comes down to a missing R3-A2.

11) MrSunol
-100-
25 Jostero w/ Vaksai, Deadeye, G Chip, Failsafe, Harpoon, Crane
75 (x3) Ace w/ Vaksai, Deadeye, G Chip, Failsafe, Ray Shield, Harpoon, Crane

22) James5559
-100-
68 (x4) Marauder w/ Vaksai, G Chips, Failsafe, Tracers, Dampeners
32 Thweek w/ Star Viper mk II, Virago, Sensor Jammer, Autothrusters

This last match is a game of tactics. James5559 does not need to fly his ships near one another to be effective here, as long as he can bring his guns into play together. Pre-combat decisions will dictate who has the advantage; obstacle placement, ship placement, and approach angles. One Marauder is toast, but I don’t think it will be enough. If James can trade 1 ship for 1 ship after losing a Marauder to the Harpoon alpha, he should ace the game with Thweek at the end. I like the chances of both players in this match, but if MrSunol moves last I think he has a huge edge.

END OF ROUND
Top 32 match results are due BEFORE October 16th.
I will only extend the round due to emergencies.
If a double-loss is scored, an alternate takes that seat.

🙂 Good luck to all players! We are green to go! 🙂
