The initial push to bring back Ashes: Rise of the Phoenixborn - a (truly) innovative card game designed by Isaac Vega - was met with an unbelievable outpouring of support from previous and new players of the game. Subscription goals were hit within three days of the announcement, which kicked off new development for the game through the Ashes Reborn product line. Since that time, new expansions have been consistently released and an outstanding PvE/Solo game mode has been developed (Red Rains).
Subscribers have made, and continue to make, all of this happen. Your subscription not only allows Plaid Hat Games to continue to create Ashes products but also gets you those products as soon as they release - especially relevant for a game that is not moving through the usual game store pipelines.
